Digital Art Timelapse: DTIYS Challenge
My latest timelapse video is now ready! I cannot promise I will create videos every week, but I can say that I aim to post 2 every month. Some months may have more, but my goal here is to create, enjoy doing it, and not get burnt out by pushing myself too much too soon.

Back in May, Pianta (Céli) created a Draw This In Your Style (DTIYS) Challenge on Instagram. I have been wanting to complete this challenge for a while now, and am glad to be able to show you my process for this piece. Watch as I go from sketch to final in this digital art timelapse in Clip Studio Paint.

2021 January 04: DTIYS Challenge
For some months now, I've admired the art of aepoyi on Instagram (the original can be found here) and wanted to work on their 10k Draw This In Your Style Challenge. Thankfully, there was no time limit on it, so I could work on that now that I *finally* had time (and motivation).
I was surprised at how challenging to work with such saturated colours as I tried to find a balance. It was certainly an adventure! I enjoyed the practice and can't wait to do another.

Digital Art Timelapse in Clip Studio Paint | Character Portrait
Digital art timelapse created in Clip Studio Paint of my husband's orc rogue from World of Warcraft. Watch me go from sketch to finished painting in significantly less time than it took me to actually paint this digital portrait!

2020 October 06: Mango
Finished my latest pet portrait commission of this small gentleman, Mango. He's so cute! I'm glad that I got the chance to paint this pup, and had a tonne of fun doing it too. Created with Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Photoshop.

2020 September 10: Shiba Inu
Completed pet portrait of a Shiba Inu named Riko, commissioned by someone from FP! Thanks for commissioning me and allowing me to paint such a cutie. :D
---
2020 August 25: Toby
A digital painting of my parents' Havanese, Toby. Created in Clip Studio Paint with text and colour adjustments added in Adobe Photoshop
Trying something new this summer, with a more realistic style of painted portraits. Really enjoying the process and learning better and more efficient ways to paint both human hair and dog fur.
I could do more on this (I always can!), but I will leave this as is and call it complete. I'm happy with it, and it does look like Toby! :3

2020 May 12: The Rose Umbrella
The Rose Umbrella
As the story goes, The Rose Umbrella is a former priestess who wanders the fields of forgotten souls, the space between life and death. She collects the lost spirits as she walks, giving shelter from a world of abandonment. When recovered, the souls are released to flourish in perfection. A rose.
In an ancient telling, however, it is said The Rose Umbrella is a demon that feeds on the souls of the forgotten dead. As she harvests the souls it is said she has no need for blood... and so the roses fall as she makes her away across the fields of battle.
That last one couldn't be true though, right?

Image is based on a recurring dream. I've had this dream multiple times since news of the pandemic and quarantine arose, and always awaken with a sense of dread despite the beauty in what I'm seeing. There's something just beneath the surface.
Created in Adobe Fresco with touch-ups in Adobe Photoshop.

Art and Updates for April 2020
April 2020's Art Update ✨
Didn't think I would miss the April art update, did you? Certainly not me. I knew exactly what day it was today. 😎
Turns out I completed more artwork than I thought this month, though there's a fair bit on-the-go as well. Check out the blog for this month's accomplishments, details on what's to come, and supporter downloads on Ko-fi! 😁❤️
Iris Commission
A commission for my mother-in-law of her irises, part 1 and 2.
I enjoyed the process of this one and learned far more about these kinds of flowers than I ever thought I would. It was a welcome challenge to get them just right.
Image created fully in Adobe Fresco and making use of the live Watercolour Brush for some interesting effects!
The full quote between both images is: "Let us make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow's reality." -Malala Yousafzai
2020 February 02: Orc
Taking a break this weekend to draw a few images for myself, to be used as examples when I'm ready to offer commissions later this month. Here is the second, a handsome orc that is yet unnamed.
I created a timelapse video of the sketch for this piece, too. If it's something you want to see more of, please do let me know!

2019 December 31 Sailor Moon Eternal Fan Art
A digital work featuring Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon. To date, this is probably the most complex piece I have created. I'm really happy with how this turned out. :D
2020 January 06: Guardian Shadu
First completed work of the year!
This one is a gift for my husband of his Guild Wars 2 Charr, the Guardian Sergeant Shadu.
This is my first time drawing Charr and they have teeth everywhere. xD It got easier when I realized the face reminds me of the dragons of the Eastern dragons of folklore. This may be the first time I have worked on armour, too... didn't turn out too badly if I do say so myself.
